About Janet Ebright
I graduated with honors from La Maison Grenouille culinary school, previously located in Pacific Grove, California. Upon graduation I worked in a variety of culinary settings including hotel work, privately owned restaurants, catering as well as a private sailing yacht. Three seasons on the yacht Wind-A-Way were spent sailing the seas of the West Indies, Bahamas, Virgin Islands and the eastern seaboard. I learned a great deal during this time about personal service as well as creative cuisine.
After disembarking from the Wind-A-Way, I accepted the position of Executive Chef at Turnberry Country Club in Lakewood, Illinois. This began a sixteen-year career in the private club sector including positions with Royal Melbourne Country Club in Long Grove, Illinois, Redlands Country Club in Redlands, California, and Indian Ridge Country Club in Palm Desert, California.
During my time at Royal Melbourne I also served as an instructor at the Elgin culinary program. Along the way, I have kept abreast of industry trends through classes at the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone, trade journals, travel, and acquiring certification as an Executive Chef from the American Culinary Federation. The ACF certification is highly regarded in the industry as a benchmark for level of achievement.
After exiting the private club sector I accepted the position of Personal Chef for Mrs. Betty Ford at her home in Rancho Mirage.
In addition to my personal chef service I also teach cooking instruction at Cooking With Class, the valley’s leading culinary school. <Cooking With Class - La Quinta>
